Paris Tarot (tarot De Paris) - Review

J. Philip Thomas first visited Paris in 1981, and the very moment he set foot on the Champs-Elyses, he had a visionary experience that lived on in his consciousness from that day forward. The deck of 78 breathtaking cards incorporates classic and contemporary art and architecture from Paris. The illustrated book details each card.

Photographs taken by J. Philip Thomas of sculpture and architecture in Paris are modified and collaged to represent the traditional tarot imagery. The Minors follow the emblematic forms established in the Rider-Waite deck.

In this deck, the suits are Matter, Water, Fire & Air. Court cards are Spirit, Stallion, Queen & King.

The cards themselves are crudely printed, they are produced with no coating for protection and longevity, which is a disappointment. Still a lovely deck to behold.
